Big John, I love you as a friend and brother in the Lord. I’m going to miss you for awhile but I will fellowship with you again in Glory. Rest in peace, gentle giant.

Big John will be missed dearly by his family and friends. He was a man of honor and humility always welcoming those he met with a friendly handshake or hug. He impacted my life at Bible Baptist Church of Monroe with his steady attendance and welcoming demeanor even when time began to make him frail. A man of God, well done faithful servant of Christ.

Big John was a very close family friend. He touched many peoples lives, and he has changed ours forever. We cherished the time spent with him. He loved to make you laugh, and was just someone that loved everyone. Big John, thank you for everything. We love you!

Big John was a friend to everyone.
He was a fighter that inspired you to never give up. Serving the Lord was the most important thing in his life. Although he will be missed I will be forever grateful for his love and friendship.

I thank Jesus my Savior for the tremendous blessing of knowing Big John. I always knew no matter what he was there for me. So many of the best memories of my life involved Big John. I take great comfort in knowing that one day I will see him again and I give God praise for that.

Big John, my man, I remember coaching with you years ago with the youth basketball league, I believe it was 14 & under ages, and we did pretty good that year. But, of course, I will always remember you on the softball diamond, the many great times we had between all the teams we played on and against. I remember the great team that never lost a tournament (Church of Grove) and of course at Hammond Park, where you umpired games that included my kids. You will be missed, I guess the Lord needed another addition to his softball team. RIP my friend !!
