OBITUARY

Maggie Sue Smith Ellis, age 89 of Social Circle, passed away on August 25, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Sue was born in Monroe, Georgia on November 21, 1936 to the late Charlie Mitchell Smith and the late Ruby O’Kelley Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Ellis; sisters, Dorothy Harrison, Mary Shepherd; brother, Charles Smith; son-in-law, Ray Hubbard. 

Surviving members of her family are, her daughter, Vicki Hubbard; sister, Betty Hawk; grandchildren, Andrew & Mary Hubbard, Kady Sorrow, Mitch and Titly Hubbard; great grandchildren, Joel, Piper, Annabeth, and Elliana Hubbard; Avery Sorrow, and MayaRay Hubbard. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Meadows Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Hardy officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery.
