OBITUARY

Janice Marie Whitehead, age 69 of Social Circle, passed away on August 24, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.  Janice was born in Athens, Georgia on August 22, 1957 to the late Wilburn Paul Burgess and the late Patricia Veale Burgess. 

Surviving members of her family are, her devoted husband of 38 years, Roy Whitehead; son, Michael Mayer (Christy); step-daughter, Melissa Whitehead; step-sons, Kenneth Whitehead, Roy Whitehead, Jr.; sister, Connie Dingler (Kenny); brothers, Bobby Burgess (Marcella), Ray Burgess (Melissa); several grandchildren and great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Meadows Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Boyd officiating.  Interment will follow at Smith Family Cemetery in Arnoldsville, Georgia.
