OBITUARY
Todd Chris Hughes, 53, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026,
after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his
family.
Todd was born on December 26, 1972, to Doug and Karen Hughes. He was a
1991 graduate of Logan High School in Logan, West Virginia, and earned
his degree from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, in
1996.
Todd was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother,
uncle, and loyal friend. He lived a life marked by kindness, quiet
strength, and an unwavering love for his family.
Whether he was sharing a laugh, lending a helping hand, or simply
showing up for those he loved, Todd made everyone around him feel
valued. His gentle spirit and generous heart left a lasting impression
on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Above all else, Todd’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by
his beloved wife, Kelli; his children, Paige and Braeden; his parents,
Doug and Karen Hughes; his brother, Brian Hughes (Candi); his sister,
Starr Lowe(Jason); his Uncle Greg Davis (Karen); his best friend, Steve
Facemyer; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear
friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Anderson and
Eulah Davis, and his paternal grandparents, Jim and Alma Hughes.
Though his time with us was far too short, Todd’s legacy of love,
resilience, kindness, and compassion will continue to live on in the
hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00
p.m. at Meadows Funeral Home in Monroe, Georgia. A funeral service
celebrating Todd’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 3:00
p.m. at Honey Creek Woodlands in Conyers, Georgia.
Todd was a devoted Marshall University fan, so the family invites those
attending to wear Marshall apparel or the school’s signature green in
his honor. Because Honey Creek Woodlands is a natural burial preserve,
guests are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone
who prayed, visited, prepared meals, donated, and supported them
throughout Todd’s illness. Your love, generosity, and kindness carried
them through the most difficult days and will never be forgotten.
Todd will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Todd’s honor to
the Walnut Grove High School Marching Band, where his son proudly
marched for four years and where Todd faithfully volunteered and
supported the band every step of the way. https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/in-honor-of-todd-hughes
