OBITUARY

Douglas Julian Leming, aged 73, of Loganville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 29, 1953, to the late Elizabeth Joiner and the late Alfred Eugene Leming. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeen “Sister” Leming.

Douglas leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Carole Hipkins Leming; daughters, Wendy Norris (Doug), Julia Leming; grandchildren, Bryson Norris (Carly), Sarah Norris; great grandchildren, Kash and Carter; brother, Lelan Leming (Sue); fur babies, Kila, Honey, Georgia, Gus, Karma, Ice; a host of beloved extended family, friends, and neighbors.

He loved most of all his family. He enjoyed the sunshine, hunting, fishing, the roar of his motorcycle, the accomplishments of his woodwork and how much lacquer he needed to add, yardwork, avid bird watcher, bus patrol and a jokester.

"What we have once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us."- Helen Keller

Now the armor is off, and the struggle is past, He is whole, he is free, he is resting at last. No boundaries to hold him, no weight on his frame, as the wind whispers softly the sound of his name.

A visitation will be held at Meadows Funeral Home, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, on Saturday, May 30, 2026. In lieu of flowers, to honor the life of Doug Leming, a memorial donation may be sent or brought to Meadows Funeral Home, to assist his family with final expenses.

Meadows Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
