OBITUARY

Michael (Brian) Watkins, age 76 of Monroe, passed away on May 10, 2026. He was born on November 20, 1949 to the late James Michael Watkins and Ruthleen Burrell Watkins. He was preceded in death by his brothers, the late Kevin Watkins and late Keith Watkins.

 Surviving are loving wife, Linda Watkins; daughter and son in law, Kelly and Adam Simmons; son and daughter in law, Michael and Sandii Watkins; grandchildren, Alexa Simmons, Kenzie Simmons, Kaiden Simmons, Liam Watkins, and Milan Watkins; sister and brother in law, Donna and Terry Coleman.

 Brian was graduate of Monroe Area High School and served in the US Navy on the aircraft, the USS Bon Homme Richard during the Vietnam War. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved his family and friends, loved making people happy. He loved God and had a deep faith in Jesus.

A visitation will be held on Saturday May 23rd at the Monroe First Methodist Church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday May 23rd at the Monroe First Methodist Church at 11:00 AM with the Rev. John Purrington officiating.
