OBITUARY

Tommy Holland Mitchem, Jr., 76 years of age, of Monroe, passed away on March 26, 2026. Mr. Mitchem, was born on June 29, 1949 to the late Tom Holland Mitchem, Sr. and the late Dora Holder Mitchem.

Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Navy on board the USS Harlan R. Dickson.  His love for his country and family was quite clear any time you were around him.  He will be missed, but never forgotten.

Surviving members of Tommy’s family are wife, Teresa Mitchem; sons, Michael Mitchem, Matthew Mitchem, Tony Mitchem (Beth); sister, Kathy Adams; grandchildren, Mekay Joyner (Patrick), Joseph Mitchem, Cameron Mitchem, Judd Mitchem; great grandchild, J.B. Joyner; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Whitley officiating.  Interment will follow at Braswell Cemetery in Good Hope.  A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
