OBITUARY

Brenda Gail Cheek Sauber, age 81, of Monroe, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026. She was born in Houston, Mississippi, (Chickasaw County) on July 9, 1944, to the late Mildred Medora “Billie” Woodruff Cheek and the late Merrell G. Cheek.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Lawrence Sauber; brother, Daniel “Danny” Garies Cheek. 

She moved to Georgia in her younger years and lived in Augusta, GA attending the Richmond Academy before embarking to the city of Atlanta where she married David at the Vinings United Methodist Church in 1978. David & Brenda lived together in Stone Mountain for the next 30 years going to St. Timothy United Methodist Church. After becoming a widower, Brenda Gail moved to Monroe, GA for the last 20 years and enjoyed her family and grandchildren.

Brenda Gail, also lovingly known as Mimi, leaves behind her children, Scott David Sauber, Michael Lawrence Sauber (Ginger), Anne Kathryn Motschull (Tom), Garrett Paul Sauber (Nancy); grandchildren, Patrick John Sauber (Alyssa), Hannah Marie Batty (Bill), Ethan William Sauber; great grandchildren, Henry Sauber, Ellie Sauber, Gwen Batty; niece and nephew, Vanessa Cheek Pavlik (Jason), Shane Cheek (Kimbriell), sister-in-law, Toni Cheek; beloved dog, Sadie.

A Memorial Service in honor of Brenda Gail Cheek Sauber will be held Friday April 10th, 2026, at the Monroe First Methodist Church, 400 S Broad St. Monroe, GA 30655 at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 am. A catered reception celebrating her life will follow the service at the McDaniel-Tichenor House, 319 McDaniel St. Monroe, GA 30655-2060.
