OBITUARY

Janet (Jan) Marie Weisman, 71, of Madison, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

Jan was born on November 1, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Ben and Juanita Weisman. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Millie Weisman Parrish.

Jan grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Henderson High School in 1972. From a young age, she had a deep love of horses, a passion that grew into a lifelong career. Jan was affectionately known by many as the "Original Horse Whisperer," a title once given to Jan by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in a newspaper feature.

Those who knew Jan remember her as dedicated, kindhearted, and caring, especially when it came to animals. She found joy in every horse she trained and in every life she touched through her work.

Beyond her love of horses, Jan had a tender heart for all animals, especially her dogs. She also enjoyed gardening and took great pride in nurturing her flowers, sharing photos and stories about her garden with friends and family brought her endless joy.

Jan is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Zan Rogers; her sister, Beverly Weisman Bishop and her sisters-in-law, Gloria Bruce; brothers-in-law's, Kim Bishop, David Parrish, Mike Rogers and Tom Bruce; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
