OBITUARY

Diana Maynard Stephens, of Monroe, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, with her husband, of 54 years and seven months to the day, at her side. Diana was born on August 3, 1951, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Glenn and Sue Maynard.

Preceding her in death are her son, Daniel Stephens; parents; sisters, Pam Miller, Carol Sparks.

Surviving Diana is her loving husband, Al Stephens; daughters, Katherine Stephens, Emily Stephens; 8 grandchildren; brother, Matt Maynard; many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Those who knew Diana knew of the dedication she placed in all areas of her life. She occupied a career as a Nurse Practitioner, earning her Bachelor’s Degree from The Medical College Georgia, and later a Master’s Degree from Emory University. She spent time within her community as a Girl Scout Leader, an active church choir member, and Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed gardening, and obtained the title of Master Gardener, cultivating a serene and beautiful atmosphere throughout her yard. A devoted mother, wife, and grandmother, Diana enjoyed spending time on the beach and in the mountains with her family. She will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Meadows Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Saturday October 4, 2025, at Monroe First Methodist Church, with Rev. John Purrington officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Gwinnett Memorial Park.
