Grady Coleman Witcher Jr., age 79 of Monroe, passed away on June 25, 2025. He was born in Monroe on December 30, 1945 to the late Grady C. “Bob” Witcher and the late Gertrude Rowe Witcher. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Cindy Collins Witcher, and sister, the late Marla Rea Anthony.
Surviving are brothers, John Alva Witcher (Mukaddas Arzikulova) of Monroe; Melvin Lynn Witcher (Michelle) of Loganville; Sisters in Law, Mary Ann (Gene) Malcom of Monroe, Judy Rouse of Braselton, Debra (Earl) Bryant of Loganville, Pam (Paul) Jenkins of Hammond, LA; several Nieces and Nephews.
Coleman attended the University of Georgia in Agricultural Engineering, working briefly for the Soil Conservation Service before beginning his career at the Southeast Poultry Research Laboratory in Athens, GA.
Coleman was a devout Christian. He and his wife, Cindy, were always among the first to participate in church programs and activities. Coleman always deeply loved his family, including the “adopted” members, and impacted hundreds of lives for the better. A true servant’s heart is now at rest.
The family wishes to thank Cindy Allen for her love and support, as well as Abbey Hospice, and caregivers Nurse Tonya, Amanda, and Angel.
Funeral services will be held Sunday June 29th at 3:30 PM with the Rev. Brad Waters, Rev. Allen Whitley, and Rev. Jerry Chambers officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Dacula.
