OBITUARY

My precious mother and the sweetest Nana, Velma Lee Hulette, went home to be with the Lord, on May 30, 2025.

She was the epitome of 1 Thessalonians 4:11. She led a quiet life worshipping her Lord and sacrificially serving her family, minding her own business, working with her hands, beautifully crafting and sewing countless sentimental gifts for her family.

Her daily life of sacrificial love has been the beginning of a beautiful legacy of love for our family.  She will be dearly missed, yet we rejoice in her complete healing knowing she is resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus, the One she never forgot.  Miraculously, even in the last stages of her battle with Alzheimer's, she never forgot her Lord, the Bible, or her family.  These were the things that brought her comfort and made her feel 'at home.'

Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Ruby Murphy, her husband of 40 years, John Hulette, and her brothers, Preston Murphy and Alton Murphy (Ann).

She leaves behind her daughter and her 'son,' Sondra and Dwaine Hogsed, her precious grandchildren, Tristan and Lydia Hogsed, and her sister, Estelle Cooper.

We are so very grateful to know that she was secure in her faith, and we will be reunited again in Heaven.
