OBITUARY
Dianne Elizabeth Marchant Gove, 83, of Monroe Ga., passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at her home in Monroe.
Visitation will be held April 30, 2025 at 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m., both at the First Baptist Church in Monroe. She will be interred at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton, Ga.
Dianne was born on October 28, 1941 in Tifton, the daughter of Amos Marchant and Hazel Fletcher Marchant.
She graduated from Tift County High School in 1959 and then went on to study Home Economics at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
Dianne married Richard E. (Rick) Gove on March 9, 1984 in Monroe. During their more than 40 years together, Dianne and Rick loved to host friends and family at their home in Highlands, N.C., taking in a play at On Stage Walton, and enjoying a lively game of bridge with friends. Dianne and former spouse, John Gleaton, had three children together who they adored.
Always good with numbers, Dianne worked for many years in the Trust Department at National Bank of Walton County, now Synovus. She retired from the bank in 1993 to become a caregiver for her younger brother Marc Marchant, who had Down syndrome. She and Rick lovingly cared for Marc until his passing in 2020.
While Dianne's primary passion was her family (especially her five grandchildren), she did enjoy volunteering with the Junior League and other Monroe-area civic organizations. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Monroe.
Remaining to cherish Dianne's memory are her husband Rick; brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Martha Marchant of Tifton, and sister and brother-in-law Suzanne and Jerry Boyd of Macon; children, Jeff Gleaton, Todd and Nathalia Gleaton, Jennifer Gleaton Cromartie and Keith Cromartie; and Matt and Brittney Gove; grandchildren, Fletcher Cromartie, Mary Wallace Cromartie, Eleanor Gove, Alexander Gove and Olivia Gleaton.
Memorial donations in Dianne's memory may be directed to Friends of Advantage, a non-profit supporting Advantage Behavioral Health Systems (advantagebhs.org), or the First Baptist Church of Monroe.
