OBITUARY

Gloria Malcom Chandler, age 89 of Good Hope, passed away on March 23,2025. She was born on October 2,1935 at home in Morgan County, Georgia to the late Lottie Bell Hanson Malcom and the late Horace Malcom, Sr. 

She married Billy Chandler, who proceeded her in death, on January 27, 1955 and spoke of her love for him often.

Gloria was the epitome of southern hospitality. If you showed up at her house at mealtime, there was always a seat at the table for you and you always left full. She loved and appreciated the simple things of life. She loved her family immensely and taught us to love each other and the Lord. She never failed to tell everyone how good the Lord had been to her. 

Surviving members of her family are, daughters, Carol Johnson (James), Sara Akins (Parrish); son, Bob Chandler (Shelly); sister-in-law, Eula Mae Adcock; brother, Horace Malcom, Jr.  (Sherrie); grandchildren, Chandler Akins (Jessica), Callie Akins, Bill Johnson (Olivia), Sam Johnson (Samantha), Mary Trent Alexander (Joshua), Sara Anna Chandler (Cason); great grandchildren, Madeline Johnson & Margo Akins.  

Visitation will take place on Tuesday evening, March 25, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Meadows Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 26th, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
