OBITUARY

Airey Aultman Mallard, age 79, of Monroe, Georgia died on December 1, 2014. She was born in Macon, Ga. on September 30, 1935 to the late Susan Burney Aultman and the late J. W. Aultman. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Earl Mallard. She is survived by her daughter, Angela Byrd Mallard of Telluride, Colorado, her son Wilson Mallard and his wife Angie Mallard of Dacula Ga., grandchildren Hannah and Andrew Mallard of Dacula, Ga., her sister Susanne Dorsey of Nashville, Tn., and many other cousins, nieces, and a nephew. Mrs. Mallard graduated from A.L. Miller High School in Macon, Georgia in 1953. She attended Queens College in Charlotte and the University of Georgia where she earned a B.A. in Psychology. She was a former schoolteacher and a member of the Monroe First United Methodist Church of Monroe. She also served as the past chairman of the Monroe Library Board of Trustees, past Board member of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, as well as the McDaniel-Tichenor Board, the Monroe Housing Authority Board, and was former President of the Monroe Jr. Service League. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Monroe on Thursday, December 4 at 1:00 p.m. The family will recieve friends at Meadows Funeral Home in Monroe on Wednesday, December 3 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Faith in Serving Humanity (F.I.S.H) at 770-207-4357 or www.fishofwalton.org
