OBITUARY

Mr. Tucker was born on January 14, 1932 in Moultrie, GA to his late parents, Freddie Vera Tucker (nee Page) and William Raiford Tucker. He was preceded in death by his three brothers; Billy, Lamar, and Lynwood; two sisters; Lanelle and Sarah; and his beloved wife of 67 years, Patricia.

Ronald is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Patricia and Mike Register of Jacksonville, FL and Ellen and Patrick Toms of Gainesville; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Ronald's upbringing with a large, loving and close-knit family taught him much of what made him the admirable man he became; love, humor, hard work, humility, gratitude, dedication and service. After high school, Ronald joined the Georgia National Guard with his brothers Lynwood and Lamar. All three were activated into service in 1950 at the start of the Korean War and served their country with honor. Upon returning home in 1952, Ronald attended Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. It was during his time there as a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity that he met his future wife Patricia on a blind date. After graduating, he began his working life with Southern Bell before his career working in management with Landress Smith's manufacturing plants brought him and his family to Winder, GA.

His career as a manager spanned several plants throughout Hoschton and Winder. Ever the tireless worker, he became a licensed realtor before retiring to a busy life of travel, family, worship and endless dedication to his community. His selfless spirit of service saw him giving countless hours volunteering with Winder First United Methodist Church, and Kiwanis Club among many others. It's a true reflection of his character that he had perfect attendance during his decades of Kiwanis membership. His friendly greeting and his open smile brought so much to so many.

For every inch of his impressive height, he possessed boundless kindness, respect, and care. He was always ready to help and he treated everyone with grace. He loved his family with an uncommon gentleness and responsibility that made him one in a million. He was a true role model.

Ronald and his wife Patricia will be reunited in a private interment service at Rest Haven Cemetery in Monroe, GA. His memorial service will follow at 4:00pm on Friday, May 30th at Winder First United Methodist Church.
