OBITUARY

David Richard Shumate, age 67, of Covington suddenly passed away on March 29, 2025. Ricky was born on June 14, 1957 in Walton County, Georgia to the late Rosie Jean Parker and the late Clinton Westley Shumate. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grady and Maudine Shumate, Clarance and Florina Parker, parents, Clinton Shumate, Norman and Jean Adcock. 

Ricky leaves behind his daughters, Heather Shumate Wetmore (Ken) of Dayton, Ohio and Katy Shumate of Marion, Virginia; Ricky loved his weekly virtual Grandpad video dates with his granddaughters, Lily, Riley, Aubrey, and Hadley Wetmore.

He leaves behind his surviving Siblings, sister Shelia Frix (Thomas) from Kite, Georgia, Richard Adcock (Donna) from Monroe, Georgia, Shelley Gilbert (Zane) from Covington, Georgia; Aunt, Elizabeth Bramlett of Winder, Georgia; Lifelong cousins, several nieces and nephews.  

We will miss his infectious smile and laugh.

A private family Graveside Memorial service will be held at a later date.
