OBITUARY

Carolyn Shepherd Owens, age 88, of Monroe, Georgia, passed away on March 24, 2025. She was born on September 26, 1936 to the late Annie Belle Adcock and the late Harvey Shepherd. 

Carolyn is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Owens; sisters, Helen Thomas and Joan Henderson; brother-in-law, Larry Thomas. 

Surviving Carolyn are her daughter, Kay Burgess (Doyle, Sr.); son, Ronnie Owens (Lori); grandchildren, Amy Burgess (Melody), Doyle Burgess, Jr. (Ashley), Bridget Deshong (Eric), Dayne Owens, Brooke Clay (Robbie), Karley Dial (Chris); great grandchildren, Jacquelyn Deshong, Devin Deshong, Peyton Burgess, Parker Burgess, Brenleigh Clay, McKenna Owens, Grady Dial, Sarah Beth Dial; great great grandchild, Iris Abbott; sister, Ellen Pratt (Jerry); brother-in-law, Doug Henderson; a host of beloved nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, from 10:30am to 12:30pm. 

A graveside service will follow at 1:00pm, at Mount Vernon Christian Church Cemetery, with Minister Frank Pratt officiating.
