OBITUARY

James "Jimmy" Larry Duncan, age 79, of Oxford, Georgia passed away on March 6, 2025. Jimmy was born in Monroe, Georgia, on September 24, 1945, to the late Ruth and Jim Duncan. 

Jimmy moved to Atlanta to start his career in the automotive industry on the evening of his high school graduation. He continued in that field, worked his way into management, and retired in 2008.

A loving and devoted husband and father, he enjoyed traveling with Vicki, seeing new sights and experiencing new locations. However, spending time with their children and grandchildren was what Jimmy loved the most. Jimmy is remembered especially for his love of shoes, jackets, and cutting firewood. 

Surviving members of the family are his wife of fifty years, Vicki, son Matt, daughter Lori and son-in-law Jason, daughter Rebekah and son-in-law Charles, and grandchildren Rylee, Murphy, Angela, Ella, Rachel, Duncan, Lydia, and Anna. 

Jimmy surrendered his life to Jesus in September of 1972, and continued to live a devoted and faithful life, instilling the way of the Lord in his home and family. He served in many capacities at Jersey Holiness Church, including Sunday School teacher, deacon, and elder. He was a man of integrity and was respected by all. Jimmy's character and demeanor drew friends from all walks of life. 

Visitation will be held at Jersey Holiness Church on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Jersey Holiness Church with the Reverend Ben Allgood officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
