OBITUARY

Shirley Ann Knight, age 87, of Covington, GA passed away on January 5, 2025 at Piedmont Walton surrounded by her loving family. 

 She was born in Conyers, GA on May 20th, 1937 to the late Marie Thompson and the late Carl Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Zelmer Knight; her daughter, Marsha Barts, son-in-law, Billy Barts; brothers, Ray Thompson, Golden Thompson, James Thompson, Charlie Thompson, Winston Thompson, TC Thompson, Eugene Thompson, and her sister, Gaynell Hanson. 

 Surviving are: daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Steve Head, Covington, GA; grandchildren: Jason Head (Covington), Jeremy Head (McDonough), Casey Barts (Senoia), Megan Barts (Covington), and Ashley Barts (Monticello); great grandchildren: Wynter Barts, Ethan Barts, Gracie Barts, Mallory Head and Hunter Head; great-great grandchildren: Summer Heinrich and Asher Grady; sisters: Evelyn Stapp and Juliette Boss as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

 Shirley retired from Sweetheart Plastics after 25 years. She then began sitting with the elderly which she took to heart. She enjoyed gardening, listening to Gospel singing and preaching, and talking to her friends on the phone. 

 A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 8th from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Meadows Funeral Home in Monroe, GA. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday January 8th at Meadows Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Lynn Head and the Rev. Ben Allgood officiating. Interment will follow at Jersey Holiness Church Cemetery.  Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
