OBITUARY

On Monday, October 7, 2024, Miriam White Euton, wife, best friend and travel companion of her husband of 51 years, died peacefully in her sleep and was immediately embraced by her Lord and Savior at the age of 75. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Candler and Georgia Irene White, brother William Arthur White and brother David Franklin White.  Miriam is survived by her husband Larry and many nieces and nephews.

Miriam was born at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta Georgia and moved to Decatur when she was 2 years old. She lived there until she married Larry in 1973. She loved going to Misty Waters across the street every chance she got. She loved roller skating and won many awards. She graduated from DeKalb High School in 1966. Miriam and Larry met on a blind date in January 1968, but their relationship was interrupted by Larry's four-year military commitment. After Larry's military service, Miriam and Larry were married in 1973. So began a 51-year marriage highlighted by her commitment to her Lord, her church and to Larry. She loved to pray for others and to read her Bible. Her favorite Bible verse was Jeremiah 29:11. Cross-stitch was a hobby that she loved to do and to give completed projects to other people. Miriam enjoyed traveling and was blessed to visit all 50 states and 15 countries.

Miriam had been diagnosed with Bi-polar disorder in 1978. She had asked that her brain be donated to the Harvard Brain Tissue Resource Center in the hope that her contribution may finally lead to a cure or more treatment options for mental illness. She was always giving, thinking of others.   Just as Paul did, Miriam fought the good fight, she finished the course, she kept the faith.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 12th at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Mitchell and the Rev. Jonathan Banks officiating.  Interment will follow at Masters Cemetery in Dekalb County.  Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to her church, Berean Baptist Church, Social Circle, Ga. or to The Gideons International, an organization distributing Bibles around the world.
