OBITUARY
Weebie Louise Floyd Guillebeau, age 85, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024, surrounded by family.
Born in Hart County, Georgia, on November 23, 1938, Weebie was the daughter of the late J.W. Floyd and Mary Sue Hall Floyd. She now joins her heavenly family, reunited with her beloved husband of over six decades, Royce Alvin Guillebeau Jr., as well as her siblings Bobby John Floyd, Rachel Ann Floyd, and Glen Floyd.
Weebie's legacy lives on through her cherished family: her sister and brother-in-law Pauline and Charlie Clegg; her son Royce Alvin Guillebeau III; her son and daughter-in-law Randy and Linda Guillebeau; her daughter and son-in-law Audra and Marion Adams. Her love also extends to her grandchildren and their spouses - Jessica and Joey Jones, Bo and Mary Louise Guillebeau, Haley and Drew Dailey, Ryan and Misty Guillebeau, and Ansley Guillebeau and Jose Espinoza and her precious great-grandchildren, Hadley Guillebeau, Charles Dailey, Willow Dailey, and Victoria Dailey.
She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Joe Ann and Doylene, along with many nieces, nephews, and countless lifelong friends who became family.
Weebie was beloved for her sense of humor, tireless work ethic, kind heart, mischievous smile, and infectious laugh. Truly one of a kind, she left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her strength and joy radiated to all who knew her, transcending generations and deepening friendships at every stage of life.
From humble beginnings as the daughter of a sharecropper in Royston, Georgia, Weebie's journey took her to the heart of Atlanta, where she lived in a church home while working at Sears. These early experiences shaped her resilient spirit, fostering a tenacious work ethic and boundless compassion that would define her throughout her life.
Beyond her family, Weebie found joy in countless pursuits, including bowling, softball, gardening, and dancing. She had an unmistakable gift for bringing people together, whether on the ball field or in the garden, her zest for life was contagious.
She loved most animals, but had a particular fondness for pugs. She shared her life with five pugs, each bringing her immense joy and friendship. She lived an active life, but could always count on a pug to share a cookie and couch with at the end of the day. She is survived by her beloved Pookie who stayed by her side through the very end and misses her immensely.
But it was with horses that Weebie found one of her greatest passions. An exceptional horsewoman, she competed in long-distance horseback races from 1986 until 2010, and her love of riding continued well into her 80s. Whether on the trails or tending to her horses, she found deep companionship and solace with them. We are comforted by the image of her beloved horses meeting her at the pearly gates, carrying her to her eternal home.
Weebie's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life well-lived. She will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, her boundless heart, and her ability to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.
