OBITUARY

Mavis Rosa Hester, age 102, passed away on July 28, 2024. She was born on August 15, 1921 to the late Bessie Knight and the late John Hester. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late O.N. Hester; siblings: the late Julia Malcom, the late Willie Malcom, the late Mary Ella Peters, the late Johnny Hester, the late Tommy Hester, the late Mellcarey Hester.

Surviving are daughter: Nancy Owenby (Lloyd); grandchild: Jonathan Owenby (Regina); great grandchildren: Lillian Grace Owenby, Zachery Owenby. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Reverend Don Malcom and Reverend Greg Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Union Chapel Church Cemetery.
