Obituary

Betty Hood Lovern, 89 years of age, of Winder, GA went home to be with Jesus on October 3, 2023. She was a 57-year member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She was influential in the lives of many of her Sunday School students. Betty also served in the medical field as a CNA and ward clerk. She was a talented, strong, virtuous woman. She was preceded in death by; her parents, George and Pearlie Hood; siblings, Jean Garritoni, Jimmy Hood, Pallie Griffeth; brother-in-law, W.A. Pittman. Betty is survived by, her sisters, Geneva Pittman, Joanne (Harry) Stephenson; her children, Monte (Joyce) Chambers, June Davis, Shelley (Ronald) Kelley, Scott Lovern, Timothy (April) Lovern; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Ms. Betty’s visitation and memorial service will be held at Hickory Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, October 28, 2023. The visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with the memorial service to begin at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hickory Grove Baptist Church in memory of Betty.
