Virginia Ann Smith (Grandmommie), 99, born December 10th, 1923 went home to be with the Lord August 24th. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert (Bob) Smith. Also her daughter, Phyllis Tanner. She leaves a daughter, Lee Ann (Mitch) West. Grandchildren, Jeremy (Michelle) West, Jill Mayfield (Richard), Glenn Tanner. Great Grandchildren, Connor, Grayce, and Maren West. Her amazing life was richly blessed by the wonderful, loving care of her nurse, Kathlene Toussaint, for over eleven years. She was her nurse, but most of all her friend who became like family. A special Thank you to Longleaf Hospice. Nurses, Petra, Amy, Caroline, Victoria , Annie and all the volunteers who delivered flowers and warm smiles to her. They were kind spirits that made her days better. There will be no services at this time. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
