Obituary

A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, Gregory Alan Strain, 73, of Social Circle, Georgia passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019. He was born July 10, 1945 to Paul E. Strain and Mary Evelyn Kinder. One of Greg's greatest joys was spending time with family and friends. He also loved his church, Social Circle United Methodist Church. At church he was an active member in United Methodist Men's club, and regularly volunteered with F.I.S.H. He also enjoyed traveling and in recent years he was able to head out west and experience parts of the country he's never seen before. Greg was an upstanding citizen in his community and will be missed. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pamela (Linn) Strain, son Jeff Strain (Patricia Fabunan) of Newtown, Ct., daughter Angie (Toby) Casey of Social Circle, GA, grandchildren Colby Atkinson, Alexis Atkinson, Ashton Casey, Shelbie Casey, Taz Casey and Haley McKibben. Visitation will be held a Meadows Funeral Home in Monroe, GA on Friday, April 19, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Social Circle United Methodist Church in Social Circle, GA at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Social Circle United Methodist Church.
